Michael Tobias and legendary bassist Andrew Gouche worked together to create the MTD Kingston AG, an amazing bass with many custom features that were personally selected by Andrew himself. This bass is fully loaded with a 35" scale, alder body with maple burl top and one-piece neck, MTD quick release bridge and Bartolini pickups and active Bartolini 3-band preamp. With its smooth playability and mind-altering tones, this bass will change the way you think about the instrument. Available in a custom finish created to perfectly blend with the fingerboard.
In Michael Tobias's own words, "This is a sweet sounding bass!"

MTD US CRB PROTOTYPE! Circa 2011? This is truly a unique piece from the mind behind so many modern bass designs and innovations. To our knowledge, only 3 or 4 of these exist. Michael Tobias built these as design prototypes for the Kingston CRB's available today. As you can tell from the pictures, this bass is very different from what became of the production Kingston CRB. The CRB was Michael Tobias' interpretation of the Precision bass design. This PJ is the ONLY MTD US that I have personally seen with the PJ pickup configuration.
This bass is pristine, and very lightweight. Only the slightest shine around the controls, and a small pencil tip ding on the top and near the upper horn (impossible to photograph) betray this as preowned. Frets are very clean and free of wear.

The MTD Standard Finish is a catalyzed acrylic urethane satin that looks and feels a lot like oil but is many times harder without building great thickness. This allows the bass to breathe, sounding more wooden.

The pickups and active electronics are a proprietary design for MTD made by Bartolini Inc. which consist of a master volume and pan pot, treble, mid, bass cut and boost, with center click (from neck to bridge).

The three position switch selects the mid range cut and boost point. Down is lower mids, center is middle and up is upper mids. When the mid pot is at center click, the switch has minimal effect.

Bridge and tuners are custom manufactured for MTD American Basses by Hipshot. All MTD Handmade Basses use the revolutionary Buzz Feiten Tuning System which enhances tuning dramatically, allowing the player greater freedom of expression. Comes with custom MTD soft-shell case.
